An old man named Mr. Subramanian Swami from Chennai settled in Ahmedabad before many years. He worked very hard day and night as a labourer in Calico Mill. He wanted his two sons to get educated and settle in life. He purchased one flat in Khokhra Housing Co-op. Society. Both the sons get well settled in due course of time. Both got married too. But unfortunately the oldest son and his wife died. After that Subramanian began to pass his retired life with his younger son – Anna. Anna was jobless and could not manage to live a comfortable life with his wife. He was a crooked man.

In due course of time, the house which was purchased by Subramanian in Khokhra held a price worth Rs.40 lacs. Subramanian was well aware that his son - Anna wanted to grab away that property, so he denied for the same. Having failed in achieving the said property from his father, Anna started showing his colours and he started thrashing his father quite after in the presence of his family members.

On 30th October 2015, the cruel son and his wife crossed all the limits. The son Anna caught hold of his father Subramanian tightly and his wife thrashed him brutally with a bat. This was too much for the old man Mr. Swami left his flat and lodged a complaint in Khokhra Police Station. With tears in his eyes, ultimately Mr. Swami took shelter in "Jeevan Sandhya old age Home." His son Anne even snatched away Rs.3 lacs from his father Mr. Swami and kicked him out from his own house. In spite of all these harassment Mr. Swami's only wish is o give away the said flat to his two grandsons before his death. [The names of the character are not real]

An old lady, Kamlaben and her husband were living with their son, daughter-in law and a grandson in a posh locality in Ahmedabad. The daughter-in law had hated towards the in-laws. So Kamlaben and her husband went away to stay at other place. After husband's death, when mother Kamlaben became lonely, her son took her away again to his flat. At that time, Kamlaben's grandson was 6 years old. But again the daughter-in law Rambhaben started quarrelling with Kamlaben. Once Rambha thrashed Kamlebn and threatened her that if she would stay longer with them, she (Rambha) would commit suicide along with her husband Dinesh and the grandson.

So Kamlaben requested her son Dinesh to get her admitted in "Jeevan Sandhya". So her selfish son did the same.

At present Kamlaben lives in "Jeevan Sandhya". Her only wish is to meet her grandson, but the cruel Rambha is a great hindrance to that. Even Dinesh is restricted to meet his mother. Whenever Dinesh meets his mother Kamlaben, both cry helplessly. Rambha's nature and hated are same every today.

A son is a son till he gets a wife, but a daughter remains a daughter throughout her life.

Mr. Farsubhai Kakkad, the caretaker of Jeevan Sandhya says that out of all the visitors, who came and meets their parents, 80% of them are daughters and only 20% are the sons.

Dinukaka and his wife Bhanuba resides in Jeevan Sandhya since 19 years. Their son and daughter in law did not even care to come and meet them once in all these 19 years. But their daughter Yoginiben regularly visits Jeevan Sandya. She meets them, takes care of them when they are not well. During the festivals and during their sickness Yoginiben takes her parents to her house. Nowadays as her parent's health has deteriorated badly, Yoginiben has brought them at her house for good. Today she takes utmost care of her parents.

Another example of daughter's devotion and care towards her parents is narrated as below. Mr. Hargovanbhai Patel age 84 years stays in Jeevan Sandhya since last 17 years after he lost his wife in Patan. His daughter Veenaben and son-in law Maheshbhai are quite thoughtful and take good care of Hargovanhai by visiting after to Jeevan Sandhya. Before sometime they have taken Hargovanbhai to their house for good where they take very good care of the old man.

Chimankaka of Bavla who resides in Jevan Sandhya since 8 years is a father of 8 daughters. All are married. He has no son. After he lost his wife, Chimankaka has become very lonely, so he has taken shelter in Jeevan Sandhya.

Mr. Rameshbhai Mali and his wife live in Dhanasuthar's pole, Relief Road. They both had worked very hard and purchased a house, where they lived with their son Kalpesh, daughter-in law Seema and granddaughter Kajol. Seema from the very beginning disliked her in laws and always wanted to have the said property registered on her name. But the parents said that the said property will be already transferred on their son Kalpesh's name after their demise, but Seema was not convinced. So Kalpesh, Seema and Kajol started harassing the old couple. They did not give even sufficient food to them. So the couple consulted Mr. Farsubhai Kakkad of Jeevan Sandhya. Farsubhai with Collector's help made it possible for the old couple to regain their property to live a respectable life.

Mrs. Narayandevi Bansraj Gandhi lives in a bungalow in Camp area, Santoshnagar Society. Her age is 85 years. She lost her husband in 2003. Her 3 sons and daughters-in law are harassing her. They beat her; torture her to have the said bungalow on their name. Narayandevi has consulted Police Commissioner for help. She has already given all the benefits such as cash, factory and jewelry respectively to her three sons. In spite of these, they are after the bungalow and they want to kick her out of the said bungalow also. Due to too much harassment, Narayandevi went to her daughter's place in Haryana. When she came back, her sons did not allow her to enter the bungalow. So she started living in a small room on rent. She at present is totally helpless and living a miserable life. The court has not reached to any conclusion still.

Dhanlaxmiben Soni who took shelter in Jeevan Sandhya before 21 years. One day, her daughter Sangitaben came to Jeevan Sandhya and took her to her house for good. Sangitaben says that she wants to devote her retired life in looking after her mother. She says that her mother is God to her.

Dhanlaxmiben was harassed by her own husband and had to take shelter in Jeevan Sandhya before 21 years. When her son became adult, he brought her cake home, but soon he died and again she had to take shelter in Jeevan Sandhya. At that time, her daughter Sangita was married in Australia. Now Sangita has came to India for good and brought Dhanmaxmiben to her house. Sangita says and believes "Matrubhakti is Haribhakti".

Son goes with a knife to the Senior Citizen Home to kill his parents.

A true case which happened in Naranpura.

An aged couple had to take shelter at a Senior Citizen Home due to harassment of their son. However the drunkard son did not keep guite and went to the Home with a knife to scare his aged parent s in order to squeeze money from them. The parents wanted to teach their son a Basan.

One night the Son arrived at the Home in a drunkard state and wielded a knife at the parents and by scaring them, tried to extract money from them. Due to the conversion, the other residents allot gathered at the scene and tried to explain to the son the leave the premises.

When the son did not calm down, ail the residents got together and told him that if he continued to behave in this fashion, they would hand him over to the police. The son got scared and ran from the home. Now the aged parents have made up their mind that if their son harasses them again, they would surely hand him over to the police.
